The problem I came across was that whenever I would put a decent amount of load on the cpu it would cave and reduce its clock to 50% (1.65 GHz). I purchased this laptop for the specs were decent enough to perform all of these tasks at exceptional rates even if it does have an APU (or so I was told). I purchased this laptop mainly for school work and applications necessary for my EE major but I wanted to have the ability to lightly game from time to time. The computer has: a kabylake i7-7500u 2.9 (base) - 3.5 (max), 4 gb DDR4 2133 MHz, and an intel HD 620. Hi I just purchased a Dell inspiron 13 2-in-1 5000 5378. The computer I'm having trouble with is an Asus Notebook PC model# F201E and I'm trying to get sound into a Pioneer Elite A/V Receiver SC-75 I attached my results from the Intel System Support Utility. My question for your great minds out there is: Where should I download this driver from, or is there a new & improved driver that I should be using? I can't find that Intel driver on this website. I wiped the hard drive and did another clean install. It seems like I downloaded something fishy.
All was well with HDMI but the machine took a while to shut down, even after several reboots. I swapped the new hard drive back in and downloaded that Intel driver from a dodgy-looking website. The driver it uses is "Intel Display-Audio Driver Version 6.". I reinstalled the old hard drive, HDMI audio works again.

The present driver with the fresh install is "Microsoft Driver Version. I just installed a new hard drive with a fresh copy of Windows 8.1 64-bit downloaded from Microsoft's website and did the gazillion updates.
